My eBox is an online service of the Belgian authorities. It is a personal electronic mailbox in which every citizen can receive messages from the authorities in a secure manner.

To get access to My eBox, you need a digital key. With this key, you authenticate yourself on the CSAM platform, the access portal to the online services of the Belgian authorities. Once you have access to My eBox, there is one more step you have to take: Activate My eBox.

Depending on your personal situation, you follow a specific procedure.

You can find the eIDAS list on the website of the European Commission (New window). If your country is connected to the eIDAS network (Electronic Identification And Trust Services), you can use your own country's electronic proof of identity to log in to the online services of the Belgian authorities.

Please note:
Read in the CSAM Help Centre what you need for your (first) registration with eIDAS (New window). Your data will be linked to your European electronic proof of identity (= the usual login of your country).

This is how you proceed:

  • Go to the My eBox website (in French) (New window), first click on Open My eBox and then on Log in.
  • On the CSAM platform, click on Log in with an electronic identification means recognised at European level.
  • Click on your country in the overview.
  • Follow the standard login procedure for your country (e.g. DigiD for the Netherlands, France Identité for France, etc.).
  • Activate My eBox by following the steps of the registration process. The steps can be found in this FAQ (in French (New window).

You can find the eIDAS list on the website of the European Commission (New window). If your country is not connected to the eIDAS network, you must be able to apply for and activate Belgian digital keys.

This is how you proceed:
